Shani Diluka is a talented female pianist who has visited Japan for events such as the La Folle Journée music festival. Born in Monaco to Sri Lankan parents, she displayed her talent from an early age and was discovered by the late Princess Grace, receiving a rigorous education around the world—a true Cinderella story. Her third album on the MIRARE label features Beethoven’s Piano Concertos Nos. 1 & 2. She is extremely particular about her performances, using a cadenza composed by Wilhelm Kempff himself and playing on a legendary Bechstein piano, whose delicate and clear tone captivates her. Diluka is a pianist who combines subtle nuances of touch, bold and compelling musical expression, and exceptional technique. The performance is conducted by the Bordeaux-Aquitaine National Orchestra, led by Kwame Ryan, a promising young conductor.
