Description:
The Anemos Trombone Quartet was formed in 2005 by students who studied under Alain Manfranc (former member of the Paris Trombone Quartet) at the Conservatoire de Rueil-Malmaison in France. Their repertoire covers a wide range of genres from baroque to jazz to Argentine tango. In addition to their original works for trombone quartet, the quartet is also dedicated to exploring unknown works and arrangements. In this recording, the quartet's passionate explorations are beautifully integrated on two albums: the first features a duet by jazz trombonist Michael Davis and a Bruckner piece with beautiful trombone harmonies, and the second features the colorful sound of the members of Anemos. The second album features many guest players, and includes works with unusual instruments such as bugle and ophicleide, as well as a large-format work performed by a trombone quartet. Tokyo M-Plus
