This is the art of a master. Gérard Poullet performs three of Beethoven's finest violin sonatas with Van den Eijnden! Gérard Poulet is a French treasure. The Japanese master will release an album of Beethoven's Violin Sonatas No. 3, No. 5 "Spring", and No. 7, recorded in May 2019 with his long-time collaborator Jean-Claude Van den Eijden! Gérard Poulet was born in 1938. His father, Gaston Poulet (1892-1974), was a renowned violinist known for his world premiere of Debussy's Violin Sonatas with the composer. He was trained by his father, Gino Francescatti, Yehudi Menuhin, Nathan Milshtein, and other eminent violinists of the 20th century, and was a favorite student of Henryk Schelling. Jean-Claude Vanden Eijnden, born in Belgium in 1947, was the youngest violinist ever to win the third prize at the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition in 1964.He is internationally acclaimed not only as a soloist but also as a chamber musician, and is known for his recordings with Poulet on "Franck & Magnard: Violin Sonatas" (PDD-002) and "Schumann: Violin Sonatas" (PDD-011). Poulet, who is now over 80 years old, still plays with a very stable technique and a light, bright tone.
