The latest disc of Song Yeol-mu, a sparkle of exquisite tone that bursts forth Ravel dedicated "Concerto for the Left Hand". Also includes Bach for the Left Hand, arranged by Wittgenstein! Yeolm Song releases a remarkable new disc. It includes two piano concertos by Ravel and an arrangement of a Bach work for left hand only, arranged by Wittgenstein, who commissioned Ravel's "Concerto for the Left Hand". The dazzling sparkle of tone in the G major concerto and the passionate concentration of the "left hand" is breathtaking. The "left hand" often features elements reminiscent of military trumpets and marching rhythms. It was the war that led Wittgenstein himself to become a left-hand-only performer. By closing the disc with Wittgenstein's arrangement of a Bach work, Song-Jolm also expresses his own prayer for "a light to light the way out of the tunnel of confusion that still exists today. In 2002, Yeol-Mu Song was the youngest participant in the 53rd Viotti International Music Competition and won the first prize.She won second prize at the 13th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2009 and the 14th International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2011, and is active worldwide with her exquisite, focused energy technique and passionate music. Anja Bielmaier has been the Principal Guest Conductor of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra since September 2024 (the first woman to hold this position). NAIVE
