Ismael Margan, a pianist born in 1992, has released a CD titled "Improvisations," in which he alternates between Chopin and Fauré, concluding with an encore of his own improvisations, as he often does in recitals. As you listen to the CD, you will find that while the pieces share similarities in tonality and style, the individual personalities of each piece are brought into sharp relief. Margan's improvisations are also full of spirit. Throughout, he has a dry touch, and his tone is beautiful and very sharp. Ismael Margan was born in 1992 in Sarra, France, and studied piano, flute, saxophone, jazz, and composition. He then entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris (CNSMD), where he studied with Nicolas Angelisch, Roger Mourlot, and Michel Dalbert, among others. 2012, he won the first prize in the Ron-Thibault International Competition. He was then nominated for the Victoire de la Musique soloist revelation.In addition to his solo work, he has performed with Alexandra Smoot, Renaud Capuçon, Edgar Moreau, Bertrand Chamayou and the Hermes String Quartet. He works with Guillaume Bellon in a piano duo and is one of the four co-founders of RecitHall, a live streaming platform launched in 2020. King International.
