He has recorded many madrigales and operas, and together with his hand-picked Concerto Italiano, he is one of the foremost authorities on Monteverdi. Here comes a recording of his own selection of Monteverdi's gems, entitled "daylight," a love story that takes place from dawn to noon, when the sun has risen high in the sky. In concept, this is a follow-up to the previous Monteverdi: Night - Lovers and Soldiers (OP 30566), but this time all the material is newly recorded.
