Their story began with a workshop in East London in the early 90s. The band's idiosyncratic sound is heavily influenced by the real-life experiences of its members, who come from immigrant communities. Jungle rhythms, dub basslines, guitar sounds that reference their South Asian roots, and high-speed rap with a fighting spirit, all combine to create a one-of-a-kind sound that still makes them one of the best live bands in the world today. In the mid 90's, after gaining a reputation for their live performances in France, they established themselves as a popular alternative to Britpop, which was losing momentum, and throughout their long career, they have performed on stage with Rage Against the Machine, the Beastie Boys, and Primal Scream. The album is the most uncompromising work of its kind to date. The album features contributions from Palestinian Jordanian electronic music group 47 Soul, popular Chilean rapper Ana Tijoux, and even a sampled speech by Greta Thunberg, making their political message stronger and fiercer than ever. The statement is stronger and fiercer than ever before.
