This is a reissue of the '75 album from Vertigo, a famous British jazz-rock band in the 70's led by the late Ian Carr (tp), who was active as a leading figure in the British jazz scene until his later years. The album features Jon Hiseman of COLOSSEUM as the producer, and while it continues the crossover line of stylish sounds and arrangements after "ROOTS", it shows more inclination toward jazz-funk sound. On the other hand, it has a cool and disturbing mood compared to the previous and following albums. The vocalization at the beginning of "Alive & Kicking" and the development of the middle part of the title track, which seems to get lost in chaos, give the impression that the shadows shown at any moment are similar to those in the earlier albums. !
