Launched in 2016 by vintage African music collector Temi Kogbe and former EMI producer Odion Iruoje, the label is a conscientious label that reissues quality recordings from Nigeria. This time, Gboyega Adelaja, a Nigerian musician who was also a member of the band of Hugh Masekela, who sadly passed away the other day, has reissued this obscure album, which was produced in his own lab after the tour with Masekela and released in 1979. Adelaja toured the world with Masekela, and was in close contact with Parliament, the Spinners, Wayne Shorter, Weather Report, Freddie Hubbard, and Herbie Hancock, among others.The album features a heavy band sound of Nigeria's best Afro-funk musicians of the time, including Jake Sollo (guitar), Mike Odumusu (bass / from BLO, Osibisa), Gasper Lawal (percussion), and more. The band's sound sometimes featured a cool, sophisticated disco sound, and sometimes a paranoid, dopey, spacey synth sound, making a clear distinction from ordinary Afro-funk music. The original recordings are rarely available on the market, and even if they are, they are in poor condition and sell for well over $500USD.
