Wild and powerful. Eric Lacloux, a talented French musician, recorded Ysaÿe's unaccompanied works! The talented French violinist Eric Lacloux has recorded the complete unaccompanied works of Ysaÿe! Lacloux studied with Régis Pasquier and other leading French violinists. Since 2003, he has been the concertmaster of the Orchestre National de l'Opera de Paris, performing a wide range of operatic repertoire under world-famous conductors such as Seiji Ozawa, Gergiev, and Boulez. He has also been active in chamber music as the first violinist of the Psophos String Quartet, and has performed six of Ysaye's sonatas for unaccompanied violin. Although written with a strong awareness of Bach's Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin, each piece is dedicated to a famous violinist or Ysaÿe's disciples, each of whom has shown strong individuality in their own way, and in recent years they have become essential repertoire for virtuoso players.
