The combination of the human voice and plucked-string accompaniment—from Orpheus of ancient Greece to the French “air de cour” and serenades sung beneath balconies—has always been linked to love. One can sense the universal and primal power of music that transcends time. Julia Semenzato is a soprano who has earned particular acclaim for her Baroque and Mozart repertoire, thanks to her crystalline voice and overwhelming stage presence. She has performed frequently with renowned conductors such as Ivan Fischer and Raphaël Pichon. In addition to her active stage and concert career, she has made numerous recordings. Since 2023, she has served as a professor in the vocal department of the Early Music Division at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Jadrán Dankam graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in London with a degree in guitar. After studying under Rolf Lislévan, he has in recent years devoted himself exclusively to the lute. Having served as an assistant professor of lute at a municipal school in Milan until 2023, he is currently the artistic director of the Norwegian Baroque ensemble “Barokkanerne.” Maxim Pidu, who appears on only one track, was born in Paris in 1994. He began playing the piano at age 5 and, two years later, began studying percussion at the Hector Berlioz Conservatory. He has also mastered the marimba, timpani, jazz vibraphone, and drums. He has performed as a percussionist with renowned orchestras such as the Milan Scala Orchestra and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, playing under the baton of great conductors such as Chailly and Kirill Petrenko. He served as principal percussionist of the Bavarian State Orchestra from 2018 to 2022, and has been principal percussionist of the Orchestra della Scala in Milan since January 2022.
