Johann Ludwig Bach was a distant cousin of J.S. Bach. From the golden age of the Baroque era to the dawn of the Classical era, you can listen to brilliant performances by the master musicians of the Berlin Academy of Ancient Music all at once. The Berlin Academy of Ancient Music was formed in 1982 in former East Germany to perform works by Michel Bravais and others. Its performance activities are rooted in the study of ancient music performance customs. In the early days, the members, including Bach, Telemann, and Michel Bravais, followed their own interests, sometimes rehearsing in a room of the flat where Alpermann used to live.In 1984, the orchestra began a full-scale concert series, and since then its performances have been acclaimed not only in Germany but also in the world. After the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, the ensemble began to expand its activities internationally.
