Lotto & Siecle and Tiberghian dream collaboration on Ravel's Concerto! It is even better than expected! Lhoto and his handler Les Siecle are especially good with Ravel's works and have recorded them one after another, but now they finally try their hand at a piano concerto. The piano concerto is a 1892 Pleyel, and the piano is a Pleyel 1892. The piano is an 1892 Pleyel Grand Patron. The score, as well as the instruments, are also carefully selected. The "Piano Concerto for the Left Hand" was commissioned by Paul Wittgenstein, who lost his right hand in World War I. At the premiere in Vienna on January 5, 1932, Wittgenstein, who was unable to perform the work, changed the score without permission and made intentional additions to the score, which drew Ravel's ire. This reportedly provoked Ravel's anger and led to an irreconcilable difference. The score was published by Durand in the year of Ravel's death, when he was suffering from an incurable neurological disease that prevented him from making proofreading decisions. The score and parts, which Wittgenstein had written and printed at his own expense at the time of the premiere, were loaned from orchestra to orchestra with changes and additions until the expiration of his exclusivity. In addition to the score, Lucien Galvin's proofs and corrections, as well as a 1:50 minute video of the Paris premiere in 1933, were verified to create a critical edition of the work. The performance is also top-notch. Tiberghien's precise and nuanced piano and Ravel's transparent and colorful orchestral sound are a delight. The sense of rhythm is also superb. The popular "Pavane for a Sad Princess" is also included, but it is not the orchestral version, but the original piano version performed by Tiberghien. This is a very enjoyable experience, like looking at a painting with a deep flavor. In addition, she performs songs with Stéphane Degoux. From the first "Saint" to Ravel's last work, "Don Quixote pining for Princess Dulcinea" are included in this collection.
