Description:
Mozart's "Grand Partita" by the elite members of the Berlin Academy of Ancient Music will be released. This is a large-scale work in seven movements, with the usual octet (oboe, clarinet, horn, and bassoon, two each), plus four wind instruments and double bass, for a total of 13 players, and a performance time of approximately 50 minutes. The excellent ensemble of the Berlin Academy of Ancient Music, which is full of virtuoso musicians, is a pleasure to listen to, especially the baroque oboe virtuoso Ksenia Leffler, who delivers a beautiful solo that conveys the charm of this piece to the fullest. The performance does not emphasize the virtuosity of the musicians, but rather the spaciousness and joyful liveliness of each member's playing. The coupling is Serenade No. 11. Written in the key of E-flat major, Mozart's favorite key, this five-movement serenade has the fresh colors that are unique to Mozart, and the interplay between the various instruments is a joy to listen to. Mozart left 13 serenades, but only three were written for wind instruments: the aforementioned No. 10, No. 11, and No. 12.
