Description:
The fourth complete collection of Bach's works for keyboard by the genius Arall! The fourth installment of a major project to record all of J.S. Bach's keyboard works by the remarkable keyboardist Banjaman Arar, who plays harpsichord, harpsichord with pedals, and organ, and whose theme is "Venetian Style - Concertos in the Italian Style". Born in Rouen, France in 1985, Allard won the Bruges International Competition for Ancient Music in 2004 at the age of 18, a gateway to success in ancient music performance, and was recognized by Kuiken for his talent as a member of La Petite Band. Since then, he has been performing as a soloist all over the world. The fourth release is a 3-CD set titled "Venetian Style - Concertos in the Italian Style. [CD 1] contains a series of arrangements for clavier of concertos in the Italian style, made at the request of Prince Johann Ernst in the late Weimar period, and based on concertos by Vivaldi, Torelli, and Marcello. Allard performs these works on Mattia de Gand's historical harpsichord. [CD 2] contains mainly organ arrangements of various concertos. The instrument Allard used here is a harpsichord with pedals. Normally, the concertos of BWV 593 and BWV 596 are played on the organ, but since clavichords with pedals were also played in Germany at that time, Allard has added pedals to his harpsichord, which he has loved for a long time. Arall says, "In my opinion, playing the harpsichord with pedals is what Bach intended when he wrote these arrangements. This is an interesting experiment. [CD3] is a performance on a historical organ built in 1710 by Andreas (Andre) Zilberman (1678-1734), the brother of the famous Zilberman brothers. This instrument is one of the few outstanding organs produced by Andreas that is still regarded as being in good condition today. Allard includes the Concerto in C major, BWV 594, the largest of the organ concertos. Also included at the end is the Toccata, Adagio and Fugue in C major, BWV 564. This work is a masterpiece that is the fruition of the "Italian Experience," a fusion of the traditional North German style and the new Italian concerto style.Allard's well-crafted programming and choice of instruments in consideration of the historical context is a tip of the hat to him. This is a one-of-a-kind project that allows the young virtuoso to travel back in time to the world of Bach's keyboard works. This is a fulfilling performance that raises expectations for a sequel.
