Raphaël Pichon, born in 1984, is now attracting the most attention in the world of French classical music. His latest release is a collection of Bach motets. The latest disc is a collection of Bach motets, but it is not a recording of motets alone, but an elaborate program that includes polyphonic works by composers of the pre-Bach period. There is no music that enriches people as much as J.S. Bach's motets. I have had the good fortune to sing them over and over again since I was 10 years old. Bertolucci was born in Murano, near Venice, was an organist in Krakow for many years, and was one of the first to introduce the double choir style to northern Europe. Jacobus Gallus was a Kapellmeister in what is now the Czech Republic.In Leipzig, the works recorded here were often used in Good Friday services.
