A project that fuses the soul-stirring sounds of the blues with the rich tones of an orchestra Cineke! Orchestra: Morgan Freeman’s Symphonic Blues The blues album Morgan Freeman’s Symphonic Blues, featuring narration by Academy Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman and performed by the UK’s “Cineke! Orchestra,” will be released by “Cineke! Records/Decca.” The “Cineke! Orchestra” is Europe’s first orchestra composed of Black and ethnic minority musicians, a unique ensemble dedicated to “promoting change in classical music and celebrating its diversity.” The orchestra is conducted by Martin Gerner, a composer, conductor, and music director who recently arranged for the live project of film music maestro Hans Zimmer. He also created all the new arrangements for this album. The album was recorded at the renowned “Royal Studios” in Memphis, Tennessee, and at the legendary “Abbey Road Studios” in London. This project fuses the raw, soul-stirring sound of Mississippi Delta blues with the rich tones of a symphony orchestra, and was produced in collaboration with Grammy Award-winning producer Lawrence “Bo” Mitchell and renowned blues musicians. Taj Mahal is highly acclaimed as a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist, and is also known for his collaborations with Eric Clapton and the Rolling Stones. Singer and guitarist Keb Mo is a five-time Grammy Award winner, including Best Contemporary Blues Album, and Shemekia Copeland, one of America’s leading blues artists, has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards to date. “Rooted in stories passed down from West Africa to the American South, the blues has become music that embodies the indomitable human spirit. It is a sound that reflects America’s past and present, and the heartbeat of a culture that has never been forgotten.” (Morgan Freeman)
