The first original concert work by the legendary composer of video game music is released by DECCA, performed by the London Symphony Orchestra Recorded at Abbey Road Studios, *Meregnon—Heart of Ice* is a symphonic fantasy conceived by Nobuo Uematsu as his first concert work following his many years of success composing music for the *Final Fantasy* series. The original story by German children’s author Frauke Anger unfolds through music and narration. This work carries on the tradition of Prokofiev’s symphonic tale *Peter and the Wolf*, which was created to help young audiences become familiar with classical music and instruments. Each of the four main characters is represented by distinct musical motifs and sections of the orchestra. This work is performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, one of the world’s most prestigious orchestras. The narration is provided by Academy Award-winning actress Alicia Vikander. About “Meregnon”: Meregnon Studio is a production company specializing in orchestral video game music concerts and recordings. In 2003, it held the first video game music concert event outside of Japan. In recent years, Merengnon Studio has launched a series commissioning renowned composers in the game music industry to create new orchestral program music targeting younger audiences. This is the Merengnon Series, whose concept is the soundtrack to a fictional fantasy RPG that does not exist in reality.
