Six years after the release of her previous album, which showcased her multifaceted talents, comes her long-awaited new album: *Agnes Obel: The Meaning of Flowers* *The Meaning of Flowers* by Agnes Obel, a Danish multi-talented artist active as a composer, singer-songwriter, pianist, and producer, is being released by Deutsche Grammophon. It has been six years since the release of her hit previous album, *Myopia*. This is her long-awaited new album. On her previous album, she handled nearly every step of the process—from writing lyrics and composing to producing, performing, recording, and mixing—almost entirely on her own, highlighting her pure and intense individuality. For this new release, she has once again taken charge of everything from composition, recording, and arrangement to production, handling vocals, piano, keyboards, synthesizers, and sampling. Unbound by genre, she has woven a fantastical and diverse collection of 12 tracks. Centered on the sense of “connection with all living things” that Ober experienced during her own pregnancy, the album explores the meaning of the birth and growth of life, as well as metamorphosis in the natural world.
