Muller, co-founder of the instrumental unit Balmorhea, has been at the forefront of contemporary music development for nearly two decades. The American artist's debut solo album for Deutsche Grammophon, Mirror Music, opens a new chapter in his creative career, with references to a wide range of genres, from 1950s jazz and 19th century classical music to contemporary avant-garde and ambient. Working with eleven international artists, the ten brilliant tracks are introspective works encompassing a wide variety of sonic colors and haunting melodic ideas.Each piece is built on Muller's ambient compositions written on mellotron, overheim two-voice synthesizer, and rose organ, and each track features a different guest artist, including Hanya Lani (Mirror 8), Clarice Jensen (Mirror 10), Jefre Cantu- Ledesma (Mirror 7), and many more.
