New album by a cutting-edge minimalist artist who continues to evolve Balmorheim - Pendant World Balmoray is a minimalist group from Texas, formed in 2006 by Rob Lowe and Michael A. Muller. The band was named after a city in Texas. The band gradually evolved into a larger ensemble, but in 2021 they returned to their roots and released their debut album "The Wind" as a duo on Deutsche Grammophon with songs inspired by a variety of sources, including meditations on the natural world and its fragility. The Wind. This second album was crafted on a 400-acre farm in rural Vermont with three-time Grammy Award-winning producer and engineer Jonathan Lowe. The work is at first bright and concise. Complex rhythmic elements, brass, strings, and vocal overlays descend vividly with guitar and piano on a newly expanded tonal palette for the ensemble.The group includes Clarice Jensen on cello, Sam Gendel on saxophone, Josef Chabasson on synthesizer, and Lisa Morgenstern on vocals. The word "pendent," which can be interpreted as "suspended" or "facing down," refers to our presence in a place of upside-down sensation.
