A dream collaboration with his ideal musicians and the world premiere recording of a new song Grammy Award-winning American composer Eric Whitacre (b. 1970) is releasing his latest album, marking his first collaboration with the world-renowned British a cappella group Voces 8. Eric conducts all the tracks himself. The new song “All Seems Beautiful to Me” is a world premiere recording. Based on a poem by American poet Walt Whitman (1819–1892), the piece celebrates the human spirit’s capacity for generosity and growth. “Seal Lullaby,” one of Eric’s most frequently performed and popular pieces, features a new recording, while “Go, O Lovely Rose” is a work Eric composed 30 years ago. “Sing Gently” was composed specifically for Eric’s “virtual choir” during the lockdown and was sung by 20,000 singers from 124 countries. The 12-movement cantata *The Sacred Veil*, for choir, cello, and piano, was composed to a text by Charles Anthony Silvestri, Eric’s longtime friend and collaborator. It depicts the death of Silvestri’s young wife, Julie, the love they nurtured, the love they nurtured, the birth of their children, and their struggle with illness. Regarding his collaboration with Voces 8—which he regarded as his ideal vocal ensemble—Eric said, “As a composer, I could not ask for more than the chance to have these musicians bring my music to life. ‘How long I’ve dreamed of this sound,’ I told myself, and conducted with tears in my eyes,” he said. Voces 8 is currently nominated for a Grammy Award for their album *The Lost Birds*. This album commemorates the 30th anniversary of Eric’s composing career. Universal Music/IMS
