Release of six previously unreleased recordings by renowned soprano Jessye Norman, who made numerous recordings for the Philips/Decca label Jessye Norman—*Jessye Norman: Unreleased Recordings* This collection features six previously unreleased recordings made by soprano Jessye Norman—who passed away in 2019—during the ten-year period from 1988 to 1998, when she was under exclusive contract with the Philips label. Each track has been remastered from the original master tapes. ● CD 1: Wagner’s *Tristan und Isolde*, recorded in 1998 with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra conducted by Kurt Masur, featuring Thomas Moser (Tristan) and a young Ian Bostridge (Young Sailor). Although only excerpts, these are valuable studio recordings. ●CD2: R. Strauss’s *Four Last Songs* (second recording), recorded in May 1989, and Wagner’s *Wesendonck Lieder*, recorded in November 1992. Both are live recordings with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by James Levine. ● CD 3: Live recordings of Britten’s *Phaedra*, Haydn’s *Schena von Berenice*, and Berlioz’s *The Death of Cleopatra*, recorded in February 1994 at a concert with the Boston Symphony Orchestra conducted by Seiji Ozawa.
