The set released to commemorate the bicentennial of Mozart's birth has been re-released in a much larger volume.
The Jubilee Edition, originally released in 1956 to commemorate the bicentennial of Mozart's birth, has been reissued in its entirety for the first time and has been greatly expanded to include many of the finest Mozart performances recorded at the time. 14-CD box set. The new set includes concertos by Mieczyslaw Horszowski and Helmut Roloff, the Salzburg Divertimento by Bernhard Paumgartner, and a collection of early symphonic and operatic overtures conducted by Fritz Lehmann. At that time, the piano concertos K.414 and K.331 were recorded at the Alhieff on a rare fortepiano from Mozart's time, and a humorous canon for voices that Mozart used for private family communication was recorded by the choir of the North German Radio (North German Zingkreis) The North German Broadcasting Chorus (North German Zingkreis) recorded them, and they are included as well. The "Requiem" was performed at St. Stephen's Cathedral in December 1955, the anniversary of Mozart's death, with Eugen Jochum conducting and Irmgard Seefried leading the solo choir.
