The Bach recordings, featuring the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by the legendary British conductor Goossens, allow listeners to savor the rich charm of Bach’s music from a bygone era; furthermore, the Concerto for Two Violins offers a performance marked by the close musical bond unique to a father-son duo. The accompanying Brahms and Tchaikovsky works, performed with the Dresden State Orchestra under the baton of Konvichny, offer magnificent, iconic performances that are both profound and full of vigor. Although recorded in mono, the quality is more than sufficient for appreciation, given that these are session recordings from 1954.
