Stockholm-based British guitarist JON COLLIN, who runs the experimental label EARLY MUSIC, released this 2022 album on DISCREET MUSIC, a center of the underworld DIY scene in Gothenburg, Sweden. As the title suggests, COLLIN played the nyckelharpa, a Swedish folk instrument, under various bridges built in Stockholm and recorded them on tape. This is a moving work in which the sounds of cars driving on the bridges and the natural reverb created by the space blend beautifully with the sound of the nyckelharpa, sometimes played like a violin, sometimes like a banjo, etc. Recommended for those who like BRUCE LANGHORNE's THE HIRED HAND.
