Description:

Chichibu guitarist Shin Sasakubo's 39th album is a tribute to legendary rapper 2Pac. Shin Sasakubo lived in Peru from 2004 to 2008, where he studied Andean (Quechua-speaking) music. One day, he was surprised to discover that the name of the legendary American rapper "2Pac" (Tupac Amaru), whom he had heard as a child, was Quechua, the language of the indigenous Andean people. Tupac Amaru was the name of the last Inca emperor, and after his execution, Peru became a Spanish colony for 300 years. At the same time, it also means the history of African slaves in the Americas. 2Pac=Tupac Amaru (Shining Dragon) The name has so many meanings, evoking the Andean world, Western colonialism, the history of African slavery in the Americas, revolution, music, and poetry. .... It evokes the endless history of mankind. Chichibu, the hometown of Shin Sasakubo, is the site of a popular revolution in Japan, known for the "Chichibu People's Party," a town where the local god mountain, Mount Mukou, was blown up over the course of a century for the sake of urban economic development. This awareness of the problem of the "urban colonial environment" has become one of the creative identities of Shin Sasakubo. This work is a grand conceptual work that looks at society through the eyes of Chichibu, and was conceived entirely on "guitar" recorded in Chichibu. It is a hip-hop adventure with classical guitar, an endless journey through human history/humanity's poetry. Liner notes are written by Akiyo Aminaka, Ken Awazu, and Shin Sasakubo.
