Korean producer/DJ Night Tempo, one of the leading figures in the city pop boom, releases the 19th installment of his "Showa Groove" series, a 7" featuring rearranged versions of two Hitomi Toyama songs. The A-side, "Exotic Yokogao," is a funky number that opens Hitomi Toyama's third album, "Next Door" (1983), which was heavily influenced by American pop music, and is also a familiar song from Night Tempo's live performances. The song has been remixed into his typical upper-beat future-funk style. The B-side "Cathy," a bold rearrangement of the lo-fi hip-hop style, is from Hitomi Touyama's fourth album "Sexy Robot" (1983) and has recently become a viral hit in China, especially on SNS. The cover was designed by Korean illustrator tree 13, who also created the Showa Groove series for Night Tempo.
