Formed in 2000, the American alternative rock band YEAH YEAH YEAHS. Their memorable band name, derived from the casual interjections heard on the streets of New York, quickly propelled them to prominence as they opened for bands like THE STROKES and THE WHITE STRIPES early in their career. After releasing their fourth album, the band went quiet. But in 2022, nine years later, they released their long-awaited fifth album, 'COOL IT DOWN'. In 2023, they performed at Fuji Rock Festival for the third time, with the venue buzzing with the excitement of their Japanese fans. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of their second album 'SHOW YOUR BONES', a colored LP has been released, finished in the same colors as the album cover. This album was nominated for the 2007 Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album, and its first single, "Gold Lion," reached #18 on the UK Singles Chart. It's a passionate work whose melodic alternative rock sound stirs the soul, hard to believe it was created during a dark period when the band faced the threat of disbanding.
