"The Roaring Waves" (Vinyl Edition): A Dream Collaboration Between Progressive Rock Legends Steve Hackett and Steve Rosalie A dream collaboration between two of progressive rock’s greatest guitarists—Steve Hackett of Genesis and Steve Rosalie of Marillion—has finally come to fruition. The album is titled *The Roaring Waves* (Japanese title: *The Roaring Waves: The Roaring Waves*). Inspired by memory, imagination, and the natural power of the ocean, the result is a striking album with a unique, profound atmosphere. Though the project has been the subject of much anticipation for many years, it is finally being released. The album, which took years to produce, features seven instrumental tracks that blend cinematic grandeur with an intimate feel. Hackett explains, “It’s not the kind of album guitarists usually make together.” Composed and recorded intermittently over nearly a decade at Racket Club Studios and in their respective home studios, this album emerged from a spontaneous and improvisational process. Jams and the sharing of ideas formed the backbone of the songs, shaping a collaboration rooted in mutual sensitivity and respect. Throughout the album, the two take a painterly, almost cinematic approach to composition, meticulously crafting music that allows listeners to drift, imagine, and immerse themselves. Rosalie explains, “We create an atmosphere… just like painting a picture. We take people on a journey.” This album features a gatefold sleeve, and the LP is an 180g heavyweight record mastered at half speed at Abbey Road Studios.
