CrownLands, a progressive rock duo from Ontario, Canada Their long-awaited studio album, *Apocalypse*, following a series of instrumental releases Since forming in Ontario, Canada, in 2015, the duo CrownLands has been creating sounds that transcend the boundaries of time. Their self-titled debut album *CrownLands*, released in 2020, won the "Breakthrough Group of the Year" award at the Juno Awards and garnered attention for being produced by Dave Cobb. In 2023, they released their second album, 『Fearless』. In 2025, they released the instrumental works 『Ritual I』 and 『Ritual II』 in quick succession, expanding their sound design and the unique worldview of their music. Kevin explains, “*Rituals*, which we produced in our home studio, was our first serious attempt to handle every step of the process ourselves. That album gave us the confidence that we could create Crown Lands’ music in our own space, even without a major-label budget or a lavish studio.” The confidence gained from that process is clearly reflected in their latest release, ‘Apocalypse.’ The majority of the album was composed and recorded in the same room that has served as the band’s base of operations since 2020, without the use of external studios.
