It received a one-week limited IMAX release starting February 20th, followed by a worldwide theatrical release on February 27th (a theatrical release in Japan is also confirmed for sometime in 2026).Elvis presents his music and personal story in a way never seen before, delivering a truly unique cinematic experience. This film is a must-see not only for Elvis fans, but for all music lovers and entertainment enthusiasts. During the production of the 2022 film 'Elvis', Baz Luhrmann and his team discovered footage in Warner Bros.' vault. This included material shot for the documentary 'Elvis on Stage (Elvis: The Way It Is), which chronologically documents his August 1970 Las Vegas residency, and footage shot for the documentary Elvis on Tour, which captured his 1972 national tour. They also uncovered a treasure trove of long-hidden film negatives and footage, including unreleased 8mm film and previously unheard audio of Elvis discussing his career. Baz Luhrmann and his team collaborated with Academy Award nominee Jonah Ann Redmond, Peter Jackson's Park Road Post Production, and many others to restore this material over several years.Beyond the energy of Elvis's iconic, one-of-a-kind performances, what was revealed was the man behind the myth—described by Baz Luhrmann as "utterly at ease on stage, able to feel the genuine love from his fans, and express himself with an intimacy and humanity unlike any other artist."
