This debut album, *Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous*, released in 1995, quickly became the talk of the streets. Although its commercial success was limited, it has since come to be highly regarded as a classic. Produced by members of Big L’s hip-hop crew, Diggin’ in the Crates Crew (D.I.T.C.)—including Lord Finesse, Buckwild, and Showbiz—the album masterfully blends radio-friendly catchiness with uncompromising, hardcore lyricism. “Put It On” Tracks such as “MVP,” “8IzEnuff,” and “DaGraveyard” are known as signature songs that showcase BigL’s exceptional talent. Although it was the only studio album he released before his death in 1999 at the young age of 24, it propelled him to the status of a hip-hop legend.
