2004 release: Liverpool rock band The Zutons' debut album "Who Killed... The Zutons?" (Orange Vinyl) The Zutons are a British rock band formed in Liverpool in 2001. Originally a four-piece, drummer Sean Payne's then-partner Abbie Harding joined the band after playing saxophone at one of their live shows. Her saxophone added the final touch to their unique sound. The band's name comes from the nickname "Zuton" given to Captain Beefheart's guitarist, Zoot Horn Rollo. Their debut album, Who Killed... The Zutons?, reached number 6 on the UK charts. Their second album, Tired of Hanging Around (2006), featured their signature songs "Valerie" and "Why Won't You Give Me Your Love?", both of which reached number 9 on the UK singles chart.Following member changes, they released their third album, You Can Do Anything, in 2008. Though they went on hiatus in 2009, they reunited for a one-off performance in 2016 and made a full-fledged comeback in 2018 for a tour recreating their debut album. Then in 2024, they released their fourth album, The Big Decider, their first in 16 years. Produced by Nile Rodgers and Ian Brodie, it reached number 7 on the UK Albums Chart. This album, their 2004 debut 'Who Killed... The Zutons?', features numerous beloved tracks including the band's signature songs "Zuton Fever" and "Pressure Point," the heart-wrenching "Not A Lot To Do" with its poignant strings, and the groovy "Havana Gang Brawl."
