Dream Theater's 22nd official bootleg is a live recording (white vinyl) from Summer Sonic 2010, their final performance before Mike Portnoy's departure. Dream Theater's "Lost Not Forgotten Archives" series, released since 2021, features rare recordings including live performances, demos, and studio outtakes as official bootlegs. The 22nd installment in the series, released after approximately two and a half years, is a live album capturing their performance at Summer Sonic 2010, featuring previously unreleased recordings. On August 8, 2010, the final day of their world tour for the 2009 album Black Clouds & Silver Linings, Dream Theater headlined the Mountain Stage at Summer Sonic, their first-ever appearance at a Japanese festival. It is well known among fans that this show was the final performance before the departure of Mike Portnoy (Dr), one of the band's founding members and a leading figure (Mike left the band one month later and returned in October 2023).This release contains the full audio recording made for later TV broadcast, featuring a dense 75-minute set centered around extended new songs. It delivers a truly satisfying listening experience, capturing the band's dynamic, formidable performance and the audience's jubilant excitement with vivid realism in high-quality live sound. The vinyl edition will be released in white. Released immediately after their first Japan tour since Mike's return, which kicked off with the February 25, 2026 Nippon Budokan show, and featuring beautiful kaleidoscope artwork evoking the cherry blossom season, this release undoubtedly reflects the band's special affection for Japan.
