Lamb of God, the charismatic band of the US metal scene, releases their first new album since 2022, "Into Oblivion" (alternate cover/gray black splatter vinyl). Lamb of God, the charismatic band of the US metal scene, consists of Randy Blythe (vocals), John Campbell (bass), Mark Morton (guitar), Willie Adler (guitar), and Art Cruz (drums). Formed in 1994, they began their activities based in Richmond, Virginia. They have released a total of nine albums to date, garnering five Grammy nominations, selling over 3 million albums, filling arenas around the world to capacity, and surpassing a cumulative total of 1 billion streams, leaving behind a brilliant track record. Their latest album, 'Into Oblivion', their first since 2022's 'Omens', was produced and mixed by longtime studio collaborator Josh Wilber.It was recorded in multiple locations closely tied to the band's identity. Drums were recorded in Richmond, Virginia, while guitars and bass were recorded at Morton's home studio. Brye recorded vocals at the legendary Total Access Studios in Redondo Beach, California, where albums by punk pioneers Black Flag, Husker Du, and Descendents were born. Guitarist Mark Morton said, "For me, this album means having creative breathing room and being freed from the feeling that we have to keep up with trends and expectations. It feels great to be free from any schedule other than coming together with the idea that started it all: 'Let's make music that we think is cool. Vocalist Randy Bly candidly explains why the band named the album Into Oblivion: "Because that's where we're headed. The album as a whole depicts the current state of affairs, particularly in the United States, where the social contract continues to rapidly disintegrate.What would have terrified people 20 years ago is now accepted." This alternate jacket edition, featuring one bonus track on gray-black splatter vinyl, is a limited release exclusive to Japan, France, and Germany. They will kick off a North American tour in March, featuring support acts from three leading contemporary heavy music acts: Kublai Khan TX, Fit For An Autopsy, and Sanguisugabogg. As global attention grows, anticipation for a Japan performance continues to rise.
