Prima Classic, a new independent label founded by soprano Marina Ribeka and sound engineer Edgard Vertanesian that focuses on opera and song, presents a collection of folk songs by composer Komitas Vartabed, one of the founders of modern Armenian music. The label features a collection of folk songs by composer Komitas Vartabed, who is regarded as a pioneer of Armenian modern music. This album showcases the artistic legacy of Komitas Vartabed, a composer, musicologist, medievalist, folklorist, choir conductor, and poet who has played an important role in the history of Armenian music, and who will perform the role of Norina in "Don Pasquale" at the New National Theater in 2019. The young Armenian soprano Hasmik Troshan, acclaimed for her superb technique and natural expressiveness, will sing the role of Norina in "Don Pasquale" at the New National Theatre in 2019. Born in Yerevan, Armenia, young soprano Hasmik Troshan studied at the Romanos Melikian Music Academy and the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory of Music, where she won the first prize and the Golden Medal at the Republic of Armenia Competition, the first prize at the Bella Voce International Competition in Moscow, and was a finalist at the 6th Seoul She was a finalist in the 6th Seoul International Music Competition, and has received numerous awards at national and international competitions.Since 2011, she has been a member of the Armenian National Academy of Opera and Ballet A. Spendiaryan Theater, and since 2013, the Glyndebourne Festival, Rossini Opera Festival, Florence May Festival, Hamburg State Opera, Theatre des Champs-Elysees, and Opera di San Carlo in Naples, Royal Opera House of Turin, and other prominent festivals and theaters.
