The Queen of Latin Pop, Gloria Estefan, celebrates 50 years of activity with her first Spanish-language album in 18 years, "Raices". Born in Cuba in 1957, Gloria Estefan moved to Miami with her family in 1960 and joined a band led by her future husband, Emilio Estefan, in 1975. The band changed its name to "Miami Sound Machine" and had a string of hits, including "Conga" (#10 in the US), "Words Get in the Way" (#5 in the US), "Anything for You" (#1 in the US), "1-2-3" (#3 in the US), and "Rhythm to Get You" (#5 in the US). In the 1990s, after starting her solo career, she continued to dominate the charts with hits such as "Don't Wanna Loose You" (No. 1 in the U.S.). This year marks the 50th anniversary of her career, and she has released her first Spanish-language album in 18 years, since 2007. The album title "Raices" (Spanish for "Roots") is a reference to her roots, and includes 13 songs with a Latin sound that takes her back to her roots. 20-page booklet is enclosed.
