Description:
A new kind of Mozart. A freewheeling crossover of jazz and classical music by a French nobleman. Thomas Enko "Mozart Paradox" (analog disc) What would happen if Mozart were revived in the 21st century? In "Mozart Paradox," the latest release from leading contemporary pianist, arranger, and composer Thomas Enko, he takes us on a dramatic journey through piano improvisations on some of Mozart's most famous melodies and themes. Enko continues to cross genres while building bridges between classical music and jazz. He has explored the worlds of Bach, Schumann, and Brahms, and in his latest work he takes on the great masterpiece of Mozart. In sonatas, symphonies, string quartets, concertos, religious music, and operas, Enko performs Mozart's immortal melodies and themes freely for solo piano in a variety of genres. Enko played Mozart in David Lesko's production of "Mozart, A Special Day" (with the Insula Orchestra) in 2022, and has been deeply immersed in the music and life of this great composer.Among them, Enko's improvisation of "Lacrimosa" from "Requiem," which he performed in the play, had a great impact, and it became the starting point for this work. Breathing new life into the melodies and themes that we all love, the orchestra reinterprets Mozart with a contemporary approach, full of passion and freshness. <Thomas Enko (piano, arranger, composer) Born in 1988 in Paris to a family of musicians, Thomas Enko began playing violin at age 3 and piano and composing at age 6. In 2005, he enrolled at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Musique in Paris, where he released his first album, Esquisse, and in 2008 won the "Prix Django", the highest honor in the French jazz world, for best newcomer. In 2019, he moved to Sony Classical and released the album "Thirty".His reinterpretation of Keith Jarrett's "Cologne Concert" at the Philharmonie de Paris in 2023 was so popular that it was sold out. He is also an accomplished classical musician, performing Mozart, Ravel, and Gershwin concertos with orchestras around the world. Sony Music
