The session recorded in 1958 by the same members/studio as the historical masterpiece "Kind of Blue" is finally released independently! Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue" is one of the greatest jazz albums of all time. The session was recorded at Columbia 30th Street Studio in 1958 with the same members, Cannonball Adderley, John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Paul Chambers, and Jimmy Cobb, the year before the recording, but until now it has only been heard on some compilations. The four song session, which was recorded at Columbia 30th Street Studio with the same members, Bill Evans, Paul Chambers, and Jimmy Cobb, was released independently for the first time. The recordings were made by Analogue Productions, an immensely popular high-quality sound label, in cooperation with the well-known Quality Record Pressings.Grammy-nominated Vic Anesini of Battery Studios mixes from original session tapes, Matthew Lutthans of The Mastering Lab uses an all-tube system custom built by legendary engineer Doug Sachs and cutting lathe, and pressed by Quality Record Pressings on 180g vinyl. The cover is a chip-on-jacket gatefold with an anti-abrasion matte finish and liner notes by Ashley Kahn, author of "The Truth About Kind of Blue" and Grammy Award-winning liner notes for John Coltrane's "Offering: Live At Temple University".
