Prayerful and innovative Bach from clarinet wizard Fresto. The renowned Swedish clarinetist and conductor Martin Frest's latest album dedicated to J.S. Bach, B.A.C.H., is now available. Frest was fascinated by Bach's works from an early age, but Bach reportedly never had the opportunity to come into contact with the clarinet. However, this has not been an obstacle for Frest, who has returned to Bach's music many times during his illustrious career. In the past, he has even devised a program of performances entitled "Beyond All Clarinet History" (B.A.C.H.), in which he weaves new arrangements of Bach's melodies. Returning to this idea, he has now released this new album, "B.A.C.H.," with a new interpretation using not only clarinet, but also bass, cello, theorbo (lute), and various other instruments. The album was recorded in an old wooden chapel in the Swedish countryside. The chapel is a special place that Frest purchased and converted into a studio and concert venue.The recording features a fascinating array of artists, including Sebastian Dube (double bass), Yoran Frost (viola), Anastasia Kobekina (cello), Jonas Norberg (lute), and on the last track, Benny Andersson (piano) of ABBA (Abba) Benny Anderson (piano) of ABBA joins as a special guest on the final track, providing a wonderful musical experience.
