The album is arranged by the ensemble's cellist, Beau Wiggett, to suit the Lauten Company's special set of instruments.Saxophonist Asha Facheeva skillfully recreates the emotional depth and expressiveness of ABBA's iconic vocal lines on saxophone, bringing a new dimension to the piece and creating an innovative blend of historical and contemporary sounds. Saxophonist Asha Facheeva, who performs with the orchestra, is an up-and-coming young performer who, after winning the 2012 German Music Competition, achieved the historic feat of being the third prize winner of the 2014 Adolf Sachs International Competition and the first woman to win the competition. born in 1990 in Kerch, on the Crimean peninsula, She has lived in Germany since 2005. She studied at the Cologne University of Music with Daniel Gauthier and at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris with Claude Drangle. He was tenor saxophonist of the Ariage Quintet, but now focuses on solo performance. She has won numerous accolades for her exploration of different styles and eras with classical and jazz musicians. She and the Lauten Company had already performed together on the 2021 release "Time Travel - Purcell and The Beatles".Dancing Queen" offers an engaging listening experience for fans of Baroque and ABBA music, intersecting the rich textures of Baroque music with the vibrancy of Pop to create a dialogue between two distinct musical eras.
