Description:
His Songs - A Piano Tribute To Elton John, an Elton John tribute album by French film musician/jazz pianist Jean-Michel Bernard. Jean-Michel Bernard studied classical music at the Conservatoire de Bordeaux and Ecole Normale in France before expanding his activities into jazz and touring the world as a member of Ray Charles' quartet in 2000. He has also worked in the film and television industry. He has worked on more than 200 films, series, and documentaries over the past 40 years, has been the musical director for many popular television and radio programs in France, and has composed the music for many films directed by Michel Gondry, Martin Scorsese, Francis Ray, Francis Veber, and many others in the film industry. He has composed music for many films directed by Michel Gondry, Martin Scorsese, Francis Ray, and Francis Veber. This album is a solo piano tribute to the works of Elton John, whom Jean-Michel Bernard admires. Jean says of Elton John: "Elton John and Ray are the two greatest pianists of all time. Elton John and Ray Charles have one thing in common: they are both excellent pianists. They have a very good sense of rhythm based on rhythm and blues and the use of the bass to complement the harmony of the right hand. Neither of the two musicians was very prominent as pianists, their talents being replaced by their outstanding voices. Nevertheless, their piano playing was as great as Nat King Cole's at the time. Ray Charles recorded a very moving song with Elton John late in life. Ray must have been a kind of spiritual father to him, as he was to me. Perhaps we have that in common." This album contains 17 songs, including Elton John's most famous songs such as "Rocket Man," "Your Song," "Tiny Dancer," and "Crocodile Rock," with piano solos in Jean's unique style.
