Carole King's legendary live performance in Central Park on May 26, 1973 will be released on May 26, 2023, the 50th anniversary of the event! Carole King, one of America's greatest female singer/songwriters, gave a highly successful free triumphant concert at The Great Lawn in New York City's Central Park on May 26, 1973, in front of an estimated 100,000 people. This is the first time that the legendary concert is being presented to the public. This is a rare performance that captures Carole King at the peak of her popularity, both reputationally and commercially, with the smash hit "TSUZURE-ORIORI". Producer Lou Adler and New York concert promoter legend Delsner decided to present the first ever free concert at the famed Great Lawn in Central Park. This event transformed the live performance landscape in New York City and ushered in a new era of legendary performances in Central Park that continues to this day. Carole King delighted fans with her signature songs, as well as songs from her soon-to-be-released 1973 album, Fantasy. Despite her great commercial success at this time, Carole King rarely gave concerts.On this special occasion, however, he performed in two parts, first as a solo piano player, and then in the second half as the front man of an 11-member strong band that included David T. Walker (g), Clarence McDonald (key), Charles Larkey (b), Harvey Mason (ds), Bobby Hall (perc), Tom Scott (sax), and others. He was the front man for a powerful 11-piece band that included members who participated in the recording of "Fantasy" and performed in two parts.
