Piano trio GoGo Penguin from Manchester, UK, debuted in 2012 with a 5-track EP "Between Two Waves" (analog), their first release with Sony. (GoGo Penguin). In 2016, they signed with Blue Note. They have released three albums, Man Made Object, A Humdrum Star, and GoGo Penguin, which have sold over 300,000 copies. Their unique musical style has been described as "acoustic electronica" and has received worldwide acclaim. They have also performed at the Coachella Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, and Fuji Rock Festival. They have played shows all over the world and built up a large fan base. The band has now moved to the Sony-owned XXIM Records label. In addition to Chris Illingworth (piano) and Nick Bracca (bass), new drummer John Scott has joined the band.The recording of "Between Two Waves," the first five-song EP on the new label, took place at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios. With new members, Gogo Penguin's constantly evolving new sound is attracting a great deal of attention.
