UNEARTH, a leading figure in the MA metal movement, sounds a warning to all mankind and the earth with its eighth album, "The Wretched; The Ruinous". UNEARTH, the flagship band of the heaviest metalcore sound along with KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, will release their eighth album "The Wretched; The Ruinous", the first time in eight years that the band has played two sold-out shows in Japan in January 2023. This album, the first in five and a half years since their last album "Extinction(s)" in 2018, also features Will Putney (BODY COUNT, THY ART IS MURDER, MACHINE HEAD) as the producer. The band's title track (1), "The Wretched; The Ruin," which was the focus of much attention, features footage of the band's January 17, 2023 performance at the Daikanyama Unit and a music video that shows Trevor singing in the streets of Shibuya. The Wretched; The Ruinous" is a song that brings together elements of the entire work. It will be a special song for Japanese fans.This is followed by the dramatic and dynamic (2) "Cremation of the Living" and the fast-moving (3) "Eradicator," and from the first half of the album, it is clear that this is a work of great promise. The flow from (8) "Aniara" to (9) "Into the Abyss," which is positioned as an interlude, is a novel experiment for the band. Many of the songs voice our responsibility for the destruction of the earth's environment, the mass extinction of millions of species, and the lack of a sense of urgency about climate change. The themes of this album are profound and serious, and should be considered and addressed by all mankind. The Wretched; The Ruinous" is about the 8 billion people on the planet. It's taking too long to right too many wrongs. All the problems are real.
