Ignite (Punk)

Description:

Ignite, a melodic hardcore band that has been active since the 1990s, has released their self-titled album "Ignite," a return to their roots with a new vocalist. Formed in Orange County, California in 1993, Ignite has been a dominant presence in the melodic hardcore scene to this day. The band has released five studio albums and has experienced countless live shows around the world, crossing borders and genre boundaries in North America, Europe, Australia, South America, and the Far East. However, the band found itself at a crossroads when Zoli Teglas, frontman for over 25 years, announced his departure in the fall of 2019. However, the following year, the band welcomed guitarist Eli Santana of the metal bands Holy Grail and Hunless as their new vocalist, and the wheels for the band's resurgence began moving again. This year's "Ignite" features longtime partner Cameron Webb as producer, and features a lineup of 10 powerful, fast-moving, singalong-ready songs in the style of the band's previous releases. The melodic and political opening track, "Anti-Complicity-Anthem," "Raise your voice to rise above the shame, humiliation, and loss of life we experience as individuals and as a nation to face the trials and tribulations we face!" and explodes a strong message. The catchy and melancholic "The River" is perhaps the most straightforward and political song on the album. On The Ropes," dedicated to the late Jon Bunch, vocalist for SENCE FIELD and FURTHER SEEMS FOREVER and a former member of the IGNITE tour, is a stirring song for all who hear it.The new album is a new chapter for IGNITE," says original bassist Brett, who has been with the band since its inception, "and with the fresh change of bringing in new talent with the same enthusiasm and talent as the band, it has the same intensity as earlier records like "Call on My Brothers". I remember the intense urgency. IGNITE, a Southern California stalwart, is a band that tries to remain constant as much as things change in the world." Brett confidently states, "We've brought back the hardcore spirit of our early days," and their first self-titled album will be released in March 2022!
