VENOM PRISON, a death metal band based in South Wales, UK, has released its third album, "Erebos", featuring the "most important and uncompromising voice in the metal scene", a female vocalist from Russia, Larissa Stupar. VENOM PRISON, a death metal band featuring Larissa Stupar, released two EPs in 2015, "Defy the Tyrant" and "The Primal Chaos", followed just a year later by the album "Animus" (2016), a fusion of death metal and hardcore with an intense sound. The band's second album, "Samsara" (2019), was critically acclaimed by the British media, and "Primeval" (2020), a project album that includes new songs and re-recordings of the two EPs, was released energetically. In addition, on tour, the band shared the stage with powerful artists such as TRIVIUM, CODE ORANGE, POWER TRIP, THY ART IS MURDER, BLACKBERRY, and others, giving intense performances that put them at the forefront of the metal scene. Erebos," their third full-length album in three years, is a leap forward that proves the band's authenticity with an unprecedented wealth of development and songs. The album kicks off its destructive onslaught with the flow from (1) "Born From Chaos" to (2) "Judges Of The Underworld". The band's newest breakthrough, (5) "Nemesis," released prior to the release, features unexpected glassy reverberations of guitar and chilling piano notes that form the foundation for Larissa's clean vocals. The song is about coming to terms with depression, trauma, and PTSD. It's about accepting it as a part of you and living with it, being strong in the midst of suffering and not giving up. And although every day is new and full of hardship, I hope that in the end we will not give in to the demons in our heads and find peace in difficult situations," says Larissa.Her contribution to the work is acknowledged by the band members: "We don't keep making similar work or just show how heavy we can get. We just focus on how we can be more creative. Fortunately, the time and care that has gone into this album has allowed Larissa's expressive and unique style to come through strongly. We were also able to create lyrics that are both poetic and critical of the issues facing Western society," he says. With "Erebos," VENOM PRISON has expanded their horizons as a band, evolved their musicality, and completed a more creative work that will certainly be one to keep an eye on in the future. The impressive artwork, which continues from the previous and second albums, has been created by the same artists who created HEAVEN SHALL BURN's "Of Truth & Sacrifice," TESTAMENT's "Titans of Creation," HALLOWEEN's "Helloween," Hatebreed's "Weight of the False Self," and many others. Eliran Kantor is a Berlin-based illustrator whose works include TESTAMENT "Titans of Creation", HALLOWEEN "Helloween", and Hatebreed "Weight of the False Self".
