Description:
Hannah Peel, a Mercury Music Prize, BAFTA, and Emmy-nominated Northern Irish composer who has released a series of solo and collaborative albums on REAL WORLD. Connecting the dots between science, nature, and the creative arts through an exploratory approach to electronics, classical, and traditional music, Hannah has worked on everything from her own solo albums to composing for soundtracks like the popular TV drama series "Game of Thrones. Her work is ambitious and forward-looking, always incorporating and re-inventing new genres and hybrid musical forms. Meanwhile, Hannah is a regular weekly contributor to BBC Radio 3's Night Tracks. This work is a collaboration with the Bristol-based Paraorchestra. The ParaOrchestra is directed by Charles Hazlewood, a forward-thinking thinker about what an orchestra should be, mixing analog, digital, and assistive instruments with a unique ensemble of musicians with and without disabilities to create magic that is accessible to all! A much-talked-about orchestra. In recent years, the orchestra has reimagined the music of Kraftwerk, Philip Glass, and Barry White to renew expectations for theater, dance, and art installations, and its collaboration with Brett Anderson and Nadine Shah, "Death Songbook," has The "Death Songbook" collaboration with Brett Anderson and Nadine Shah became a hot topic. There is music that tries to tell us a deeper story. Others use the talents of the performers at their disposal in adventurous ways. Then there are those rare and generous works that remind us of our roots as human beings and our common beginnings in the universe, and whose melodies, rhythms, and textures uplift and transport us. This work is all of these. It is a wonderful eight-part collaboration between composer Hannah Peel (Mercury and Emmy nominee) and the Paraorchestra, and was created over the course of three years against the backdrop of a global pandemic, taking up valuable time. This pandemic situation, which was unforeseen when the collaboration began, adds weight to the sonic exploration of who we are, where we come from, and what we can all be. The Unfolding is also the result of Paraorchestra's explores progressive ideas about what an orchestra can be, mixing analog, digital, and auxiliary instruments to create a unique ensemble of musicians with and without disabilities, a magic that everyone can participate in. 1 track, "The Unfolding Credits. Instrumental version" is included on the 2LP only!
