The third installment of Dream Theater's official bootleg series is an instrumental demo of their 7th album "Train of Thought"! Dream Theater, the band that continues to reign supreme in the progressive metal scene, has released the "Lost Not Forgotten Archives" series of official bootlegs of live performances, demos, studio outtakes, and other treasured recordings. The third volume in the series is an instrumental demo of the band's seventh album, "Train of Thought" from 2003. This album has a darker and heavier sound than their previous albums, and Dream Theater's aggressive side bursts forth, and their superb metal-tinged playing can be heard everywhere. This demo recording is a glimpse into the band's production process for recording the album, and is a record of the almost complete backing tracks.The order of the songs is different from the actual album, but they are recorded in the order in which they were written, and after the last song, "Stream of Consciousness," Mike Portnoy (dr.) exclaims, "Yay, we've done all the songs! After the last song, "Stream of Consciousness," Mike Portnoy (Dr.) exclaims, "We did it! The album was previously released on his own Ytsejam Records label on a limited production basis, and is now being reissued in a long-awaited reissue with the latest mastering and new artwork.
